About Us

Willow Creek Association

LifeChurch has become known in the region as a welcoming community of Christians and guests captured by it's spirit and vision. Enthused by the opportunity to be involved in a life giving and growing church, we place an extraordinary emphasis on ministry to children and young people, as well as the weekend worship experience for adults.

LifeChurch has 2 campuses, our main campus is in Gorham and our other location in Bath. We are partners with the Willow Creek Association (WCA). The WCA provides training, materials, and support to local churches.

This is the story of LifeChurch to date. You could be a part of the chapters yet to unfold. Why not come and explore the opportunities?

Our Pastors and Staff

Pastors Brian and Racquel Undlin
Senior Pastors: Brian and Racquel Undlin

Brian grew up on a farm in Minnesota. After High school he joined the Army. Two months before finishing his years in the Army Brian had a dramatic experience with God that changed the course of his life. He then went on to college at Bemidji State University in Minnesota. From there, he went to Bible College in Tulsa, OK. where he met Racquel

After school He and Racquel became the Youth and Children’s Pastors at Hope Worship Center (hopeworship.com) in Tulsa for 6 years. Since College Brian felt that God was calling him to start a church in the northeast of the USA but didn’t know where until 1995 when God made the Portland Maine area clear. In the spring of 1996, with 2 small children, Brian and Racquel moved to Maine without having ever visited or knowing anyone in Maine. Simply knowing that God had put the people of Maine on their hearts, they came ready to serve and God has blessed the church from the beginning. They now have 4 children and enjoy a happy home.

Racquel was born in Southern California; her childhood was split living between CA and Washington State. Racquel felt the call of God early on in her life, giving her heart to Him at age of 9 and the age of 10 felt God calling her to a future in ministry.

Racquel moved to Oklahoma after graduating from high school to attend Rhema Bible College. There she met Brian and they were married in 1989. Racquel graduated from Rhema in June of 1991. In December of 1990 Brian & Racquel were hired as youth and children’s Pastor at Hope Worship Center in Tulsa OK. There they received practical experience working with children, youth and adult ministry.

Brian & Racquel led the first LifeChurch service on November 3rd, 1996 in Howard Johnson’s hotel ballroom. Racquel’s heart for ministry began with leading & serving children. Helping to create and form LifeChurch’s dynamic children’s ministry that began with 3 children in a small hotel room to over 200 children every weekend receiving ministry.

Racquel has felt the call to teach and lead children as well as adults. Racquel’s childhood abuse and deliverance has given her a perspective of Christ’s ability to mold and change lives and gives her added insight to reach and teach others. Many weekends Racquel teaches alongside her husband adding a unique dimension to the messages.

Brian & Racquel have been married since 1989 and have 4 children; Brian Jr, Luke, David & Rebekah.

Gordy and Kim Johnson
Senior Associate Pastors: Gordy and Kim Johnson

It was during college that Gordy knew that God had called him to minister to people. After completing Bible School, Gordy and Kim traveled to Maine to help launch LifeChurch. Gordy’s passion is to help people connect with God through a worship experience and to help people develop their relationships with God and people. He serves at LifeChurch on the worship team and pastoral care ministry. Kim and Gordy have been married since 1990. They have 3 fantastic sons and live in Gorham.

Kim graduated from Bemidji State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education in 1990. While in college, she and her husband Gordy met Pastor Brian . After teaching school in Oklahoma, Kim and Gordy moved to Maine in 1996 to help launch LifeChurch with Brian and Racquel. Since day one, Kim has been a part of all aspects of ministering at LifeChurch. WIth a background in Administration and Education, Kim currently divides her time between serving as LifeChurch’s CFO and in Children’s Ministry as the Assistant Children’s Pastor. Kim dedicates her life to the mission of LifeChurch which is to see “children’s lives transformed.” She loves to be a part of helping kids connect with God through whether through Sunday morning services, Vacation Bible School, or one on one conversations with kids. She hears people tell her all the time, “if I could have just learned what my children are learning when I was their age, I would be so much further in my walk with God.”

Tom Pequinot
Associate Pastor: Tom Pequinot

Tom was born in NYC and lived the first 15 years of his life in the empire state. He attended Catholic schools, was an alter boy, and played various sports. Just before his junior year of high school his family moved to Casco, Maine. Tom’s mom is from Maine and his dad’s dream was to retire with a house on the lake and enjoy all the beauty and adventure Maine had to offer.

Tom attended Lake Region high school and then went on to Bridgton Academy UMO and finally finished college at USM where he met his wife, Christine. Tom worked as a stockbroker and an insurance agent before realizing his dream of owning his own business. Over the next several year he bought and sold a handful of businesses. In 1999, he attended LifeChurch and started a process of being mentored and discipled by the senior pastors. Tom got involved with various ministries like LifeCamp, Worship, and LifeGroups. Over the years he discover that God was calling him into the ministry and in 2009, came on staff as an associate pastor. Tom lives in Gorham with his wife Christine and their 3 children.

Church Administrator: Pam Nicely

Pam grew up in Falmouth, Maine. She graduated from the University of Southern Maine with a business degree. She worked in Restaurant Management for a few years until she and her husband Keith opened their own convenience store. Pam & Keith have been married for over 30 years and self employed for almost as many. They have two adult boys, Craig & Jake, and a wonderful daughter-in-law, Shannon. In 2005, an Aunt in North Carolina recommended the book “Purpose Driven Life”. At the same time in a local paper, there was a full page ad that LC was doing the series. After the first week at LC, Pam & Keith were hooked and quickly got involved in LifeGroups, First Impressions Team, Outreaches and serving in many ways. Pam & Keith felt very blessed to have found a church they loved right in their own hometown. In 2008, Pam felt God was calling her to come to work at LC as the church secretary. The job quickly became much more. She now is the church administrator and oversees many aspects of the church, including LifeGroup’s, Women’s Ministry, Project Blessing (Homelessness to Housing Ministry) and Community Outreaches.

From the very start, Pam “got in the game” instead of standing on the sidelines as just a “spectator”. She feels blessed every step of the way.

Youth Leader: Kristin Leahy

Kristin was adopted at 2 months old and raised to know and love God. She grew up in South Portland, attending youth groups, Christian camps, mission trips, and singing with a worship band. She entered Gordon College as a psychology major, but God made it astoundingly clear to her that He was calling her to Youth Ministry instead. She eventually changed majors, and in 2004 graduated with a degree in Youth Ministries and minors in Biblical & Theological Studies and Counseling Psychology. After college, Kristin spent 2 ½ years as a missionary and youth worker in the country of Wales. There, she served as a local youth & worship pastor, and lead Christian assemblies in over 20 schools on a rotating schedule. After returning home in late 2007, Kristin began attending LifeChurch. She joined the worship team in 2008 and served with the youth group. She met Patrick Leahy during a mission trip to Guatemala in 2009, marrying him the following year. Both felt a call to begin a middle school ministry at LifeChurch. In June 2011, 3 months before their daughter Brynna was born, Fusion was launched. Her prayers were answered in early 2013, when the door was opened to join the staff at LC as a youth pastor. During the years, she has continued to see Fusion flourish, as well as develop the high school and a young adults ministry. Kristin also enjoys putting on the children’s Christmas musical, serving in lifecamp, writing, and doing other creative jobs for LC. Kristin loves the middle school age because they are in their prime for developing solid relationships with Jesus and in need the most for loving, understanding adults to invest in them. She believes that every youth deserves a place to feel safe, be loved, and experience God.

Children's Pastor: Samantha Day

Samantha and her husband Chris have been married since 1997. They have three beautiful children Joshua, Cameron and Kaiden. Samantha started attending LifeChurch in 2000. She had no prior church back round before attending LifeChurch. After receiving Christ he really began doing a work in her life that was more than she would ever imagine. When she began to devote her life to God, she found her call and passion serving every week in the children’s ministry department. After teaching and dedicating herself to the children at LifeChurch for several years she then opened our childcare center, Sunny Days. Working at Sunny Days for 5 years was an amazing experience in which God was preparing her for what he had next in her life. In 2010 she was given the opportunity of a lifetime to follow Gods bigger plan, becoming the full time children’s pastor of LifeChurch.

In Samantha’s own words; "Your children’s spiritual growth is so important to me. It is my honor, privilege and passion to help transform your children’s life to know God’s love and truth and help them become spiritual champions for Christ."

Ministry Support: Kandace Porter

Kandace grew up in the big state of Texas. She graduated from The University of Texas (Hook 'em horns!) with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Minor in Child Development. She then went on to complete her Masters degree in Counseling, specializing in Marriage and Family therapy from Hardin Simmons University. Before moving to Maine, she worked as a Christian Marriage and Family Therapist and really enjoyed helping people. It was amazing to see families and marriages transformed through the healing power of God! In 1998, Kandace moved 2000 miles away from her warm state of Texas to Maine, experiencing the "Ice Storm" of the century during her first winter in the North (surprisingly, she stayed!) Once in Maine, she met her wonderful husband Jeff while working as an Employment Specialist and later as a Human Resources Recruiter for Maine Medical Center. A few years later, God blessed them with two beautiful children, Morgan and Mason. In 2010, the Porter family visited LifeChurch and realized God had called them to this new church home. Kandace began serving on the First Impressions Team and the Connection Team. Soon after, she felt that God was calling her to serve more. Eventually God opened the door for her to be on staff at LifeChurch. Currently she trains and coordinates The First Impressions Team and Serve Team, facilitates Grow 301, organizes New Comer Dinners and other special events, and assists Pastor Tom in other ministry areas.

Kandace encourages everyone to say "Yes" to God when He calls you to serve. Jump in and get involved - you will not only be a blessing to others, but you will be blessed as well!

Kevin and Kim
Midcoast Campus Pastors: Kevin and Kim Gray

Kevin grew up in Windham, Maine and graduated from Windham High School in 1991. He then joined the U.S. Naval Reserves. After completing basic and advanced training he was employed full time by the Schwan food company. Kevin has had successful career with Schwans and has held a position in management since 2004. Kevin began attending Life Church in 2001. He volunteered in various capacities for the next seven years. Then in 2008, God changed the course of Kevin’s life. LifeChurch opened the Midcoast Campus in January. Little did Kevin know that he would be called to become campus pastor seven years later. Later that same year, he was married to the love of his life, Kim by Sam and Ruth Francis; the LifeChurch Midcoast pastors . Over the next seven years, the clarity of God’s calling on Kevin and Kim’s life was evident and in February 2015, Kevin was ordained as the LifeChurch Midcoast Campus Pastor.

Kim serves as the children’s pastor and has a heart for all of God’s children. As long as she can remember, she has always had a passion for impacting the lives of children. After graduating from high school, she earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from St. Joseph’s College in Standish, ME. Following college she worked with special needs children as well as children in a first and second grade multi-age classroom. She was called by God in 2008 to volunteer in children’s ministry as a teacher and eventually as director. Kim has a heart and passion to transform children’s lives by teaching them about God’s love and truth. While doing this, Kim works hard with the Children’s Ministry Team to create an environment that is safe, loving and fun for children to connect with each other and with God.

Kevin and Kim’s passion is to serve God by helping people discover the hope to which they are called and God’s purpose for their life (Ephesians 1:18-19). They currently have three beautiful daughters, Carli, Amberly and Emilee. They reside in a fun-loving home in Topsham.

Our History

In November of 1996 Pastors Brian, Racquel, Gordy and Kim launched LifeChurch in a hotel ballroom. A total of twelve people came! In that meeting, Pastor Brian shared vision and future of LifeChurch and how they could help connect the people of Southern Maine to God. This was the birth of LifeChurch and many lives have been changed.

After two and a half years of meeting in a hotel, LifeChurch had outgrown the ballroom and God was about to do something amazing. A beautiful church facility in Gorham, ME became available and was actually given to LifeChurch. From here, we continued to live out the vision of connecting people and reaching out to the community with the life changing message of God’s love. Since then, hundreds of people have been connected to God through the many extensions of LifeChurch.

Statement of Faith

WE BELIEVE…the entire Bible is inspired by God, without error and the authority on which we base our faith, conduct, and doctrine.
WE BELIEVE…in one God who exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God who came to this earth as Savior of the world.
WE BELIEVE…Jesus died on the cross and shed His blood for our sins. We believe that salvation is found by placing our faith in what Jesus did for us on the cross. We believe Jesus rose from the dead and is coming again.
WE BELIEVE…the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Jesus Christ and that He is an abiding Helper, Teacher and Guide. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and the exercise of all the Biblical gifts of the Spirit.
WE BELIEVE…water baptism is a symbol of the cleansing power of the blood of Christ and a testimony to our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
WE BELIEVE…in the regular taking of Communion as an act of remembering what the Lord Jesus did for us on the cross.
WE BELIEVE…every believer should be in a growing relationship with Jesus by obeying God’s Word, yielding to the Holy Spirit and by being conformed to the image of Christ.
WE BELIEVE…as children of God, we are overcomers and more than conquerors and God intends for each of us to experience the abundant life He has in store for us.

Our vision comes from Romans 12:2 where God states that He gives us “Transformed Lives”. A transformed life has gone from being drained by this world to being energized by God. A transformed life is directed by Gods purpose and filled with God’s joy and peace.

Our mission is simple; in fact Jesus summed it up in Matthew 22:37-39 "Love the Lord and love your neighbor." At LifeChurch, we believe it is our responsibility to "Connect with God and with People."

LifeChurch has 2 campuses; our main campus is in Gorham and our other location in Bath. We are partners with the Willow Creek Association (WCA). The WCA provides training, materials, and support to local churches.

This is the story of LifeChurch to date. You could be a part of the chapters yet to unfold. Why not come and explore the opportunities?

Name Change

There never was a new search for a new name. Just like God had made clear that he had called us to this place he made clear our real name, we were LifeChurch. We had always been LifeChurch, it was just time to make it public. Read more about our namechange from Portland Faith Center.
